A Day in the Life of New NCTC Employees

Targeted audience – university students, especially those attending UNC-CH, Duke, NCSU, and NCCU. Alumni and faculty from our constituent universities are also welcome to register. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.
A panel of recent hires at the National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC) will be providing students and faculty members an inside view of the work they perform on a regular basis in the protection of the United States from terrorist threats.
The panel members include recent graduates from North Carolina Universities and have a wide range of skills sets.
For example, a couple provide analysis of terrorism threats in Africa and Europe, writing and briefing assessments to warn policymakers, warfighters, and other partners about the threat posed by ISIS and al-Qa‘ida to US and partnered interests in the region and globally. Another works in Analytic and Multimedia Production, managing the overall analytic production process. And another analyst works in the Cyber Section. In addition, several have served two years as an operations officers or production coordinators in the NCTC Operations Center, monitoring and triaging threat reporting for our leadership and customers across the government and collaborating with interagency partners to coordinate the community response to breaking terrorism-related events.
All are excited to talk about what a long-term career in government can look like and all of the unique opportunities available at NCTC!
The session will take place on Friday, October 30th from 1100-1200. Chatham House rules apply.
