Professor Bruce Jentleson will join Kim Ghattas, Senior Fellow at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, to discuss her book Black Wave: Saudi Arabia, Iran, and the Forty-Year Rivalry That Unraveled Culture, Religion, and Collective Memory in the Middle East. Ghattas was born and raised in Beirut, on the front lines of the Lebanese Civil War. She spent 20 years as a journalist with the BBC, and she now spends her time shuttling between Beirut and Washington, D.C. Black Wave was recognized as one of the 100 Notable Books of 2020 by the New York Times.
