The History of War, the Military, and Society Speaker Series at UNC presents “The President, the General, and the ‘Double V’: Jim Crow and the First Black Marines,” a talk by Cameron D. McCoy.

Cameron D. McCoy is an assistant professor of U.S. Diplomatic and Military History at the United States Air Force Academy. He works on modern U.S. military history, often with a focus on race relations in the U.S. military. He earned his doctorate at the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. McCoy also serves in the Marine Corps Reserves as an infantry officer. He has held several positions of command while serving multiple combat tours and deployments.
