Diplomacy is one of the most valuable instruments of national power.  Interest in diplomacy is fostered in the Triangle in part thanks to lively public lectures, most notably those organized as part of UNC-Chapel Hill’s series: The Ambassadors’ Forum and The U.S. in World Affairs: the Cold War and Beyond.   It is further enhanced by the electronic journal American Diplomacy, which was founded by a TISS post-doctoral fellow and is run by a series of distinguished, retired diplomats.  Our consortium members are also among the universities who benefit from the US. Department of State’s Diplomat in Residence Program.
