The purpose of the TISS Speakers’ Program is to make available to the local community the expertise and enthusiasm of the many university professors and retired and active government professionals who constitute our membership.

The Triangle Institute for Security Studies provides speakers on issues of international security and issues of war and peace to interested community groups. From two to three dozen TISS members are invited each year to join the TISS Speakers Bureau: these are listed on this web site.

Interested members of the public are invited to browse our website to identify a speaker and topic of interest and then submit an online request. We will do our best to help you find an alternative if your first choice is not available.

If you want a speaker to address a topic not identified here, call 919-613-9280 or email pumphrey@duke.edu: we will do our best to meet your needs.
